Brad French's Guitar Restoration Lab services are broken down into five general categories. Of course every instrument is a unique challenge and there may be some overlapping that occurs.

1. Restoration

Restoration is both a fine art and science. This is usually reserved for Family Heirlooms with sentimental value, Rare Antiques or Irreplaceable instruments. The goal is to try to retain as much of the original character as possible while restoring the beauty and playing qualities to the instrument. When done properly, the results are stunning.

2. Repair

Even with the best of care, delicate string instruments often require repairs of every imaginable type. When done correctly the integrity of the instrument is fully restored. Only the experience, brought over 25 years of professional service on thousands of instruments, results in repairs that are truly "State of the Art"! Handling Insurance Claims is a specialty.

3. Routine Maintenance

Every string instrument needs servicing at least once a year to maintain proper performance and calibration. Wear and tear in addition to climactic change are the main culprits. It's a bit like having to change oil in your car every 3,000 miles. It really pays off huge dividends in the long run! For professionals, this is a necessity! 4. Customization

Generally speaking, customizing one's instrument is done to better suit the needs and wants of the player. The range of possibilities is almost endless when it comes to customizing an instrument.
